Mercedes-Benz E350 has been a reliable, steady performer. The one exception seems to be the 2006 model, which suffered from balance shaft failure. The solution was to replace the balance shaft, and in some cases, it required replacement of engine idle gears as well. Fortunately, this was the only year that the E350 suffered from this malady.
