We all know that tires wear out with use. The more you drive, the faster they will wear out. Many tire manufacturers advertise 60,000 - 80,000 miles warranty. But in addition to the miles driven, your tires are also subject to the ravages of time. Tires have a limited lifespan, regardless of use. At Fremont Auto Center we recommend tire replacement every 6 years. This is a good rule-of-thumb to keep in mind as you plan maintenance for your vehicle. Not surprisingly, many tire manufacturers limit their standard tire warranty (against defects in how it was made – like sidewall failure or tread separation) to about 6 years. Typically, your vehicle will travel around 60,000 to 70,000 miles during 6 years, so as you can see, the mileage and age numbers converge. When you bring your vehicle to our Fremont auto care facility, we will perform a tire tread check and an age check as well. We also look for uneven tire wear, which can indicate alignment problems, or failure to rotate ... read more

It has not been a good year for many EV manufacturers. Ford, GM, Honda and Stellantis wrote off billions of dollars (total around $50 billion) because electric vehicle sales fell off considerably. Their multi-billion investment in electric vehicle manufacturing and infrastructure yielded disappointing results. In the meantime, Toyota, which only had one EV pony in the race, Toyota bZ4X, continued to make money with its hybrid lineup, and appeared uninterested in jumping into the EV fray. But all this changed this year. While the other big automakers are all bloodied from their EV excursions, Toyota is now rolling out new versions of fully electric vehicles to fill in the gap. In addition to Toyota bZ (which is an improved bZ4X), it has also released 2026 bZ Woodland with higher ground clearance, and front and rear electric motors. Toyota C-HR EV, an all-electric version of its C-HR coupe, is becoming available at Toyota dealers in March 2026. With the 2027 model year, we ... read more

Keeping your Honda CR-V running smoothly isn’t just about convenience—it’s about protecting your investment, reliability and staying safe on the road. At Fremont Auto Center we’ve spent years helping CR-V owners keep their vehicles in top condition, and we’ve seen firsthand how proper maintenance prevents costly repairs down the line – especially when you own a high quality vehicle like a Honda. Our goal is simple: give you dependable service, high quality workmanship, and lasting peace of mind. Routine oil changes and manufacturer recommended services are the heart of CR-V maintenance. Most models benefit from an oil change, oil filter change, tire rotation, and a digital vehicle inspection every 5,000 miles, or about twice a year. These visits help to extend engine life, keep the tires wearing evenly, and give us an opportunity to spot developing issues in their early stages.. As mileage climbs, more involved services—like transmission ... read more

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System light, or TPMS light, is an important dashboard indicator that signals issues with your vehicle’s tire pressure or with the tire pressure monitoring system. Proper tire pressure is essential for safe handling, efficient braking, and optimal fuel economy. When the TPMS light illuminates, it’s important to get the issue handled in a timely fashion. At Fremont Auto Center we can inspect and repair TPMS problems – whether they are due to tire condition or the condition of the TPMS system itself. What the TPMS Light Indicates The TPMS light activates when one or more tires fall outside the manufacturer’s recommended pressure range. Modern vehicles use sensors to continuously monitor tire pressure and send data to the vehicle’s computer. If a sensor detects that the tire pressure fell more than 25% below manufacturer recommended pressure, the TPMS light turns on. When the light comes on, but there has been n ... read more
